Fairy Tail Chapter 369 Review - Overpowered Bastard!

Oh just fuck off!

I did this for five hours today after reading this chapter.

Ok, we've seen a lot of overpowered shit in this series and for the most part, we accepted it. We had no other choice really. However, we have never seen power like this in Fairy Tail. Jellal is alive and it turns out Zero was actually just Midnight's "Nightmare Attack", which he used years ago when he fought Erza and Jellal. I guess that makes sense since Midnight didn't seem to be doing anything during the battle at all. (And yes, Brain is actually dead!) Apparently, Jellal escaped that by crushing his own eyes. I'll explain why I said "apparently" soon. Jellal then uses a massive attack called Grand Chariot to blast them, but he's not done there.

Bleach 566 Review – “What Is Your Fear?”

Bleach 566 Review – “What Is Your Fear?”
Written by: ClayDragon

Well, I won’t be sleeping anytime soon.

When Rukia and Renji were falling towards the Soul Society, they decided on a plan of action. They agreed to hide after every fight in order to prevent the enemy from making the first move, and thus give them the advantage. Back in the present, Renji wakes up in his hiding place and figures that he’s hidden for long enough, before leaving to look for another Sternritter. It turns out that he didn’t need to look that far, as NaNaNa was right behind him.

Fairy Tail Chapter 368 Review - Zero Smash Puny Man!

Another character death perhaps?

We start off this dark chapter with Elfman who has now returned to the Guild. He's all depressed and tells them they got away with Lisanna, and he failed to save the Council Member in time. The others try to encourage Elfman by letting him know that Levy is figuring out where Tartaros' Guild will be going. Cana then speaks up and starts getting angry at how Elfman has failed. It turns out Elfman was given a Lacrima by Sayla, that will literally explode and destroy Fairy Tail, and Elfman is prepared to do anything to save his sister. Personally, I believe Cana knows something about Elfman's forced betrayal and is going to try to stop it, because Cana has never acted so harshly to anybody in any situation. Either that or she's gotten really out-of-character for this arc.

So, nobody is going to ask about his eyes?

Bleach 565 Review – “God Like You”

Bleach 565 Review – “God Like You”
Written by: ClayDragon

Time for a good old-fashioned villain backstory! Sort of.

At some point in the past there was a baby who couldn’t see, hear, speak or move. Somehow, this baby knew that he could still survive despite this (which raises the question of where his parents were at this point). The people surrounding him realised that coming into contact with the baby would heal their injuries and solve all of their problems. This was because the baby had the power to distribute parts of his soul to others.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Shino

Favorite personality trait:
“Why? Because…”. His way of explaining things. He knows a lot and wants to inform the others on missions, but it makes him so annoying. It’s something that’s typical about Shino and even if it may annoy some people, it’s who he is.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Gaara

4 days late... Sorry.

Favorite personality trait:
His strong will to protect everyone in his village. I know every Kage feels this way, but with Gaara it’s a different kind of strong will. He was feared by the villagers for years and turned into a someone who only lived for himself. Someone who killed for bloodlust and never cared about anyone else. After his encounter with Naruto he faced the fact that even a jinchuuriki is able to have bonds. This changed his life and made him into the amazing Kazekage he is.

Fairy Tail Chapter 367 Review - I Want To Break Free!

Written by Shiggins

The title of the chapter misled me.

We start off this chapter with Natsu getting thrown into a cell, and yes he is naked. (Girls rejoice! It's not just your gender that is stripped naked anymore!) Natsu is mostly demanding his beloved scarf back when he suddenly finds out he's sharing a cell with a naked Lisanna. Lisanna says she doesn't remember what really happened, so I assume she passed out when Elfman choked her against his will. After some encouraging moments that are sure to make NaLi fans very happy and piss off NaLu fans, we move on.

She's actually part of the plot now?!

And we’re back!

In response to Renji unveiling his new Bankai, Mask decides to fire a huge energy beam at him, which has the side-effect of killing James as well. Despite having killed his fanboy, Mask is unfazed as he reasons that James can be reborn as long as he (Mask) is still alive. As the smoke begins to clear, Mask notices the skull of a snake appear, and wonders if Renji activated his Bankai just before he died.

Fairy Tail Chapter 366 Review - It's Getting Really Creepy Now

Well, that's one way to start the new year.

So we're right back where we left the manga last year, with Natsu having just invaded Tartaros on his own to save Erza and Mirajane. Franmalth is of course acting all annoyed and freaking out in surprise, which gets annoying very quickly. Then Kyouka summons Yakudoriga to watch over Erza while she goes to find out what all the noise is. I was instantly horrified at seeing this thing. A tentacle frog-faced monster that spews acid? That's just disgusting. I know Hiro Mashima is going for some sort of dark "mutant-demon" theme this arc, but I think he went a bit too far here. (Especially since you just know the haters of fanservice are going to target this demon.)

I've Seen Enough Hentai To Know Where This Is Going.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Danzo

Favorite personality trait:
Ambition. His plans may have been inhumane, but he did everything needed to reach his goal. Killing people in the shadows to protect Konoha, cursing his own Root members to make sure all his activities weren’t revealed. Cruel man, but very ambitious.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Guy

Two days late... Sorry!

Favorite personality trait:
No idea if you can call it discipline, but his ‘My Rules’ thingy. He keeps setting up goals and punishments if he didn’t reach that goal in time. Funny and insane punishments, but that’s discipline if you ask me.

Top 5 Battles of 2013

Written  by: Shiggins and Micha.

What’s a brilliant shonen manga without a good ole’ heat-radiating, adrenaline-rushing, pants-wetting, lust-inducing battle? Our number two priority has always been shonen on this blog, the first being porn, and considering that battles are one of the main aspects of a good action manga, this has made its way to the three articles we’re publishing for the end of 2013.

5th - Battle of Magnostadt (Magi)
_____________________________________________________________________________

You’d think it’ll be too early for this developing manga to introduce huge plot points like introducing great wars and killing canon characters, yet here it is. It’s one of the things I love about Magi; the plot moves in god speed and doesn't hesitate to go bold with developments and themes. For instance, the Chancellor Mogamett who can be accurately described in one sentence; he’s a frickin’ douche.

Here's him casually punching a kid.

Top 5 New Anime of 2013

Written by Shiggins and Claydragon

New anime keeps constantly appearing and this year has been one of the best. Tons of new stories and monsters and random creations by the minds of people we'd never even heard of until recently, but wished we'd always known deep down. You won't have heard of all of these but damn it, you should have!

So to celebrate and show our appreciation, we show the list of the top 5 series of the year that have become available for your viewing.

_____________________________________________________________________________

5th- Senyuu
_____________________________________________________________________________

Hands-down the strangest entry on this list, Senyuu is a gag anime about a hero, a psychopathic sidekick, a tiny demon king, and popcorn. Yes, you read that correctly. Basically, a hole in the world opened, demons flooded through, and the human king rounded up all 70-odd ancestors of an ancient hero and sent them off to save the world. The story mainly follows Alba, a descendant of said hero, and his heroic comedic sociopathic sidekick/bodyguard, Ros.

There's also this guy. He's not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
