Netflix's Death Note Review

Written by Shiggins

In this case, is more less?

Anime has never had a bright reputation when it comes to western adaptations, mostly due to what can only be described as "softening the blow". Anime is bizarre, insane, sometimes terrifying but always capable of giving a unique storyline that most Hollywood movies would never risk trying, due to alienating general audiences who might not appreciate some of the weirdness. Director Adam Wingard, best known for 2016's Blair Witch, vowed to help change that with his adaptation of the hit classic series Death Note. That's a bold claim to make, but was he able to pull it off?

Minor spoilers ahead.

I never thought I'd say this but... the film really didn't explain the apples properly.

My Hero Academia Chapters 149 & 150 Review - Don't Be Angry, Irinaka & Mirio Togata

Written by Shiggins

My Villains Adorable.

Yes, for some reason the series is really forgetting to actually make us afraid of these Yakuza losers as the most compelling events by far are still the members of the Villain Alliance. Even the heroes, the ones we're meant to be rooting for, aren't really engaging at this time. At least we have Toga!

Something is incredibly wrong with her face here though...

Sand to Sci-Fi: How Magi Jumped the Shark

Written by Shiggins

A Magi-cal article? No? Okay...

I was a reader of Magi, as some of you may know. Unlike Micha, I was never one to drool over the chapters like they were golden hedgehogs that I could hug forever but I did make sure to enjoy it from time-to-time. So when I use the phrase "jump the shark", you know I am not jumping to say it without thought or reason. Nevertheless, here we are and here I go... sigh.

And yes, the jump is as abrupt as looking from left to right in this picture.

Fairy Tail Arc Review - Alvarez Empire

Written by Shiggins

Oh hey, another FT review!

Ever since the war in Fairy Tail started, a slight uprising of requests for a final review of this arc has been increasing. It has been a very controversial arc, especially when this was revealed to be the finale all of a sudden, giving everyone a shock and worried we'd go away unhappy. After it was all said and done however, was the arc a roaring success or a dribbling pile of excrement that has tarnished Fairy Tail's name forever?

FULL SPOILERS AHEAD

Look at all you sexy bastards... Damn. It's like the war of the supermodels.

My Hero Academia Chapter 148 Review - The Sorrows of Young Togaice

Written by Shiggins

I choose a really odd time to begin these reviews.

However, there is no point whining about how I should have waited until a new arc starts. My debut was Toga and Twice. That's good enough for me. And luckily, these two consumed this chapter with their fun banter and disturbing attachment towards each other. However, does that make this chapter good?

EVIL WAIFU MADE HER ANIME DEBUT THIS WEEK!

Top 10 Best & 5 Worst One Piece Villains

Written by Shiggins

One Piece recently had it's 20th anniversary (Christ, and it's still going on...), so it's only fair that we publish an article to celebrate the best part of the series: The villains!

However, just praising the villains isn't any fun, so let's mix it up a bit by also adding in the five worst of the bunch! But the bad kind of worst! The unlikable and annoying worst, rather than the fun kind of worst that we actually love to hate. As always, spoilers ahead!

Aww, they all look so happy at their little tea party.
